Hey Steve,
as you mentioned, the free products are VMware Player and the ESXi Hypervisor. If you need more features, take a look at e.g. vSphere Essentials which is very low priced.
Regarding your Startup:
I took a look at your web site and I am disappointed with the free options you offer. Other than the free access during the open beta period, I couldn't find any free offerings at all. Am I missing something? Image may be NSFW.
